Great app Melvin!

Melvin you did a great job at Nota. It is fantastic, a must have app for people learning Piano. I use it all the time, and it even helps me make more friends because people near me start conversation after hearing it.

Useless

Useless. Dont waste your money.

Boss

Great potential.

Polished and a Pleasure to Use

I bought this app while proceeds were being forwarded to Haiti. Ive been enjoying it since. The polish and beauty of this app is first class, making it a gem in the iTunes store. The quiz is very easy to use, though in version 1.2 quite basic (Im submitting my request to the developer, who is quite personable, for more quiz options). Ive used other music theory learning apps that are fairly cumbersome; this is not. There is a wealth of information in the reference guide, good for amateur and expert alike. I see that theres a lite version you can check out, definitely worth looking at.

Well Done!

I gotta say, a note driller in your pocket makes things so, so much more convenient. I have been pulling up the app and doing a round or two of note drills when Im in the car or theres a break in my studies. Even over the last week Ive seen my note recognition become markedly more efficient. The interface is beautiful and sleek and im very happy with my purchase. I have a couple of suggestions for features in Nota; -More control over options in the quiz, i.e. Selecting the range of notes to drill, tagging notes for more frequent appearance etc. - Keyboard input on the quiz instead of four buttons, inputting the note on the virtual keyboard would be ideal; learning to discern the correct octave of the pitch is pretty important. You already have a beautiful keyboard, so I dont see why this cant be done. I suggest doing this in landscape mode, if implemented. - Expand the reference section a bit! I would love to see a harmony reference or an instrument properties reference with information like range and timbre characteristics; it would make this app much more valuable to more advanced musicians. Overall, great job. Im looking forward to the next update.

great

overall great app. nice interface. useful. The only feature request is piano fingering chart (or even just numbers on the keys) for the scales section. It would really make this a more complete beginner reference/education tool and I wouldnt have to buy another app / print a bunch sheets of paper. thanks.

Last update dont waork

Please fix, the last update doesnt want to open on my iphone, I use ip 3GS

FIXED: New version crashes

Review Update - Oct 09 2012, new version: The application now works perfectly. The developer stands behind his product, and that says a lot for customer care :) A big Thank You, Melvin. Prior review: This was a decent app but now after updating on my iPod 3rd gen to latest O.S., the app starts and then immediately crashes.

Best app

I was very skeptical, but saw the reviews. I bought it. Fooling around I went to the chord section first. Im a pro musician. I tried them all. This is the no 1 music App in the store .....PERIOD.

GREAT

extreamly perfect!

Wonderful

This is a great application, above all I really appreciate the quiz session. I learned to recognize the names of the notes on the pentagram very quickly in an easy and playful mode. I hope it would develop and grow with new functions. Thank you!

Problems with iOS 8

Nota for iPhone with iOS 8 doesnt work. lower menu bar is missing.

AMAZING APP!!!! PLS UPDATE

This app is helpful. Do continue and complete this app. Possibilities are grander than what is currently known.

Id hoped for more!

Im disappointed with this app. Id hope that there would be a variety of quizzes and in fact theres only a note reading quiz. Also, theres no way to erase quizzes past scores? Oh well ... too bad ... but I find that I wasted my money on this.

Beautiful & Intelligient

This is what I love about my iPhone; wonderful apps like Nota. Ive just started piano in my late 20s, and this app has been an extraordinary help in quizzing me for note position and demonstrating scales. Not to mention the shear beauty of the interface keeps me interested in coming back and showing it off to friends. The developer must have spent lots of time and love on this- it shows in the little details. I would have paid much more for this, thank you!

Amazing Application

This is probably the best reference tool Ive seen for pianists. Great interface, and easy to use.

Great Resource for Pianists

This app is really well done. I refer to it all the time as Im learning to play piano. The interface not only looks great, but is easy-to-use. The reference section is well-organized and thorough.

Excellent tool for learning

Recreates the experience of learning from key cards. Excellent app for learning the piano.

Just started using it...

..but so far it seems pretty cool, especially for the price. I thought I had a problem with it and sent an email to the vendor. I received a very courteous return email within a few hours; it turns out the problem was totally on my end (I didnt have sound enabled). I plan to update this review in about a week, after I use it some more and get my piano teachers opinion of it.

Crashes all the time!!!!!

After a second the app crashes!!!
